If you have ever heard the saying “good things, come to those who wait” it doesn’t even compare to what you get from this place! It’s more of excellent things come to those who wait! The flavor, the freshness, and the passion that these ladies put into their food keeps me coming back each week ( sometimes twice a week lol)! When you take your first bite you are instantly realize that you are blessed to taste what real SOULfood tastes like. I had the pleasure of being able to try this at the original location and a couple days later I tried to go back so that way my wife could experience it only to find out that they had closed down. I know myself as well as many others, were excited when they made a quick post a few months later of an upcoming location to open. I went the first day they had their soft opening and was instantly transported back to that first time I had experienced this amazing cuisine. Whether I’m waiting 10 minutes or two hours for my meal from these amazing ladies I will do so with a smile on my face because “GREAT things come to those who wait” p.s. THANK YOU for the service , the dedication , long hours , and hospitality that you provide , it does not go unnoticed !

I recently ordered take out from Detroit Soul Food in Phoenix, Arizona, and it was a delightful experience. The lamb chops with collard greens and string beans were cooked to perfection, offering an authentic taste of my parents home. Additionally, the BBQ chicken paired with creamy Mac and cheese and sweet potatoes was equally impressive, creating a satisfying combination of flavors. Moreover, the professionalism of the young lady who took my order. Her courteous and efficient service added to the overall positive dining experience. The food is really good and the catfish is very fresh. The crab Mac n Cheese and the regular Mac n Cheese is really delicious. I would recommend take out. It's not that spacious for a family to sit down and eat inside.

Service, food, and proportions are everything. Flavors were great and food was hot. Felt like I was eating from my momma kitchen. Will definitely be back when I visit again.

My husband and I loved the food from Detroit Soul. It smells so good in the car on the way home it's hard not to pick at. Very well seasoned. Worth the drive and the wait anyday.

1st time there was amazing. I was in the area for a celebration of life service for my aunt. I heard about this place through a FB group and thought I'd try it out. Their food was perfect. I definitely recommend their chicken gravy poured over the rice. Cornbread was on point. I will definitely be heading back that way next time I'm in the area
